WelcomeWelcoming all veterans, active duty personnel, and their families for Free Weekly Acupuncture!
Following in the footsteps of Portland, Bangor, Augusta, and many others nationwide, we model our clinic from Acupuncturists Without Borders Military Stress Recovery Project. Acupuncture is a safe, gentle, low cost modality with a long history as whole health care. Acupuncture works well with and can often enhance the effectiveness of other treatments. Our clinic is using an ear protocol (5 tiny sterile needles placed in each ear) which has proven to be extremely powerful in alleviating symptoms of stress and trauma. (see NADA protocol) |
When: Wednesdays 6:00 p.m.-7:15 p.m.
(doors open 5:45, please be seated by 6) Where: Brunswick Veteran's Acupuncture Clinic (located at Brunswick Landing) 62 Pegasus Street, Suite 101 Brunswick, ME 04011 |
'What to expect: There will be a sign in as you enter, and you will be given an alcohol swab to clean your ears. Then you can come sit down in our comfortable circle of chairs. Our team of nationally and state Licensed Acupuncturists will then gently place the needles in everyone's ears, and you can rest quietly for 15-40 minutes as soft music is played. It is likely that you will start to feel eased and relaxed once the needles have been in for a few minutes. Some people even fall asleep during treatments. Enjoy!
Treatments have cumulative effects, and participants regularly report the following:

The Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense Evidence Based Practice Guidelines (2010) assigns a “good quality” of evidence to support the use of acupuncture to treat post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), including symptoms of pain, insomnia, depression and addictions issues.
